About Wombat
Wombat is an enchanting little cattle dog (approximately 25kgs) with a big heart and an irresistible cheeky grin. He is currently in foster care and has blossomed into a happy and affectionate companion. He may be a bit wary of new faces at first, but with proper introductions, he's sure to win you over with his wagging tail and heartwarming charm.
Wombat is searching for a loving home where he can thrive and be his energetic self.
A home with some space to roam — ideally acreage — where he can channel his curiosity and boundless spirit. And if you have a few squeaky toys even better! He loves these.
He walks well on a lead but can be reactive to other dogs when he sees them, he just wants to play. He has had training and as long as you continue his training he will thrive. Consistency is the key!
Like all Australian Cattle Dogs, Wombat is highly intelligent so does best with clear, consistent boundaries and a structured routine. And as is typical of the breed, Wombat can nip when overstimulated or excited, so he needs a home with no children or older teenagers who understand the breed and are able to respect his boundaries.
He doesn't ask for much, just room to run, a potential dog mate, and someone who'll return his enthusiasm with equal heart.
For the best fit, we'd love for his adopters to have experience with cattle dogs, as they can understand his unique needs and provide an enriching environment.
At almost 5 years old, Wombat is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and he's ready to start his new adventure with you.
If you're seeking a loyal and playful furry companion who will fill your days with joy and affection, Wombat could be your perfect match. He's ready to become a cherished member of a family who appreciates his sweet nature and vibrant spirit.
Could Wombat be the four-legged friend you've been searching for?
Current Location: Wombat is currently located in a foster home in Victoria.
