About Alora
*Alora is part of our Owner Assited Rehoming Program*
Meet Alora, a 3-year-old British Shorthair with a sweet and playful personality. She's a little explorer who loves to jump into her favourite spots, and her tiny tongue that peeks out only adds to her cuteness. Though she's naturally petite, don't be fooled-she has a hearty appetite and always lets you know when she's hungry or in the mood to play.
Alora came to our home in August 2024 when her previous owner was unable to take care of her anymore due to health reasons. Alora joined me, my sister Sarah and our cat Vanilla, also a British Shorthair. Both are retired breeding cats who came from the same breeder so we thought Vanilla would enjoy some company but, long story short, now that Vanilla had a home to herself she does not want to share.
For the past 7 months we have tried absolutely everything you can think of to make this work. We met with multiple vets including a pet behaviourist but unfortunately, nothing improved. It is because of this that we have made the incredibly heart-breaking decision to search for a new home for Alora.
This decision has not come lightly. We love this girl so much and having her not be with us is devastating. Given Alora's history and the fact that she's a bit of an anxious girl we're looking for a warm, loving home just for Alora.
Ideally, this would be a place with no other pets or young children,
where she can settle in slowly with plenty of love and attention. If you have a safe, secure outdoor area-like a cat-friendly backyard or balcony-that's a bonus because she enjoys her time outside.
If you feel your home could be the perfect place for her, please reach out.
We won't be rushing this process. Alora going to the best home where she'll be loved, happy and is part of the family is the most important thing. Letting our little girl go is going to be heart wrenching, but knowing she's going to a good home will make this bearable.
*Please note Alora does have a blocked tear duct that will need regular cleaning and attending to*
Thank you
Emily, Sarah, Alora and begrudgingly, Vanilla.
