About Mouse
Hi! I’m Mouse and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR MOUSE
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/ifoMMmsjMdUQ3JYC9
NOTE: You are unable to meet Mouse until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Mouse in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• I arrived at the shelter as a stray so my history is unknown. Due to this, my interaction with cats, pocket pets or fowl that are free roaming in the house or yard is completely unknown
• Due to coming to the shelter as a stray my history with children is unknown
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I appear housetrained
• No young children as when I'm excited I get very bouncy and mouthy, older children who will be involved with my training should be ok.
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who’ll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children due to being mouthy and bouncy. I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
• I LOVE toys, playing fetch
• I love attention, hugs, kisses and head scratches
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Exuberant & full of beans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I have never walked on a lead before so I need lots of training to learn to enjoy a stroll around the neighbourhood. I’m learning to walk on a lead at the shelter and am getting much better.
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialisation
• I love my food and toys so using them as a positive reward should make my training easier.
• I can be a bit bouncy - training should stop this
