About Ewok
Are you searching for an adorable new addition to your family?
Look no further than Ewok, our charming little Staffy mix who is sure to steal your heart.
This delightful pup is an absolute joy and is definitely worth considering if youâre looking to adopt a furry friend. With his irresistibly cute floppy ears, unique eye patch, and wiggly little bum, itâs hard to resist the urge to bring him home.
Ewok is a happy-go-lucky little fellow with a confident demeanor. He is a snuggler at heart, always ready to shower you with affection, yet he also possesses an independent streak that makes him quite the well-rounded pup.
When it comes to his favorite activities, Ewok enjoys playing with his fellow canine housemates, engaging in spirited games of tug-o-war, and chasing after the flirt pole. After a good play session, he loves nothing more than to curl up for a snooze. And letâs not forget his love for foodâEwok is a true foodie who relishes every meal.
In terms of his interactions with humans, Ewok is a confident little pup who delights in meeting new people. He recently had the opportunity to visit a local footy game, where he charmed a group of kids who quickly fell in love with him. Ewok would thrive in a family environment with children, provided they understand typical puppy behavior.
Ewok is currently living with a variety of dogs, each with their own unique personalities, and he is learning valuable social skills from them. He enjoys playing with his furry companions and is learning to moderate his excitement, making him a calm and well-mannered pup. Occasionally, he might get a bit too excited and bark when he wants to play, but overall, he is a well-behaved little guy. He has even been introduced to a cat, which he found quite intriguing.
When it comes to obedience, Ewok is highly motivated by food, which makes training a breeze. He already knows how to sit and is in the process of learning commands like âwees,â âbed,â and âcome.â His meals are primarily hand-fed, which aids in his training. While he is still learning to take his food gently, his eagerness to learn is evident.
As for toilet training, Ewok is making great progress. He does well when taken outside regularly and is becoming familiar with the command âwees.â At night, he can hold it in his crate, and if necessary, he will use a puppy pad. His coat is easy to care for, adding to his appeal.
Being a young pup, Ewok is still growing, so his exercise sessions are kept short. He is learning to walk on a leash and enjoys chasing the flirt pole, which helps build his play drive. Tug-of-war is another favorite game of his. Ewok is being exposed to various environments and sounds, which is crucial for building his confidence as he grows. He is not overly jumpy or mouthy, and his foster mom only gives him attention when he is sitting, reinforcing good behavior. While he can get a bit mouthy when excited, he is generally calm for his age.
Ewok sleeps in a crate at night and, although he may protest for a few minutes, he soon settles down and sleeps soundly until around 6 a.m. when he goes out for a bathroom break. During the day, he spends short periods outside alone and often takes himself off to nap on one of the dog beds on the deck.
Inside the home, Ewok is still a playful pup and may get into a bit of mischief, such as tearing up paper or stealing his foster momâs slippers. However, he is generally calm indoors and loves to snuggle on the couch or snooze on his doggy bed while the family watches TV.
Ewok has been on several car rides and settles well during the journey. He is currently being fed high-quality puppy food, which we recommend continuing until he is at least 12 months old. His love for food makes training an enjoyable experience.
To Set him up for success we feel the most suitable home would be as follows
The ideal home for Ewok would be one that is committed to his training, especially during the first 18 months. He would thrive with a companion who can handle his puppy antics, so a young dog that can teach him the ropes would be perfect.
A family with children would be great, as long as they are confident around dogs and understand that puppies can be a bit nippy with their needle-like teeth.
A home with space for him to stretch his legs and play would be ideal, as well as a family that will make Ewok an integral part of their lives.
A home with a medium to larger size backyard with grass, shelter, and secure fencing
A home with or without children, they must be dog savvy children who are mature and can deal with teething puppies and toy stealing so we do recommend school age as a min
If there is a dog in residence it must be female who is well socialised and tolerant of puppy behaviour.
A home that is prepared to â ride throughâ the fun puppy stage Stealing shoes . Chewing everything lol } and ensure he receives the training and good socialization all puppies require a s the develop and mature
Not tested with cats but young enough to learn
A daily walk. Short walks while he is a puppy and his bones are developing.and a home that loves to train younger dogs
