About Emerald
Meet Emerald - A Real Gem Worth the Quest!
If Indiana Jones had ever gone on a quest for the purr-fect treasure, he would have ended up with Emerald, a 10-month-old black and white domestic shorthair who sparkles with quiet charm and timeless beauty. This girl isn't just a cat - she's a living legend, a rare find, and a feline artifact of the finest kind.
Emerald lives up to her name: precious, unique, and best discovered by those with a gentle heart and a love for hidden treasures. While she's no fan of rolling boulders or high-speed temple escapes, she's got a spirit that shines when she feels safe and loved. Think more cozy cave than snake pit - she's the kind of kitty who prefers naps in the sun over navigating ancient ruins.
She's on the lookout for her forever home:
✨ A quiet sanctuary with no Indiana Jones-style chaos - just peace, love, and the occasional treat.
✨ An ideal match would be older adults or families with children aged 10 or up who understand that the best treasures take time to warm up.
✨ No need for a whip or fedora - just a warm lap, a soft voice, and a little patience to unlock her trust.
Like any great treasure, Emerald may take a bit of time to fully uncover, but once you do, you'll find a heart of gold wrapped in silky black-and-white fur. She's affectionate in her own quiet way, a true companion for the thoughtful adventurer. She's not the loud or flashy type - more like that ancient gem hiding in plain sight, just waiting for someone wise enough to see her sparkle.
So if you're done with the snake pits and ready for the purrs, let Emerald be the treasure you come home to. No maps or booby traps required - just love.
Adopt Emerald - because not all who wander are lost, and not all who search for treasure realize that sometimes, the greatest gems have whiskers.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
