About Harley
Introducing the charming and handsome Harley, a delightful canine companion who is sure to win your heart. Harley is a laid-back and easygoing dog who thoroughly enjoys spending quality time with his human family. Our beautiful chunky stocky little Australian Cattle dog is all things heeler , from his stunning colors to his love of the great outdoors Harley is the true representation of the Heeler breed.
Whether itâs lounging around the house, catching up on some much-needed sleep, or simply engaging in typical dog activities. Harley is an absolute sweetheart, known for his affectionate nature and eagerness to please.
He takes great pleasure in relaxing with his humans, whether itâs watching television together or going for leisurely strolls in the park where he can indulge in his favorite pastimeâsniffing around and exploring his surroundings.
When it comes to his favorite activities, Harley has a few that stand out. He absolutely loves going for long walks, which provide him with the opportunity to stretch his legs and enjoy the great outdoors.
Playing fetch with a tennis ball is another one of his cherished pastimes, and he never tires of the excitement it brings. Additionally,
Harley is a big fan of receiving back, neck, and belly rubs, which he finds incredibly enjoyable. Unfortunately he doesnât reciprocate.
Harley is quite the heavy sleeper, often sleeping soundly through the night and preferring to wake up at a leisurely pace. He appreciates a good sleep-in, making him the perfect companion for those who enjoy a relaxed morning routine.
In terms of human interaction, Harley thrives on attention and affection from people. He is known to engage with humans by wagging his tail enthusiastically and offering gentle licks. Haley very rarely jumps or becomes overly excited
When it comes to interactions with other dogs, Harley can be a bit vocal, especially when encountering small fluffy dogs. He has been tested with another male dog and has shown himself to be friendly, albeit a little dominant. For this reason we feel Hasrley is suited best as an only dog with his hoomans as his best friends
Harley is comfortable walking alongside calm dogs, although he may occasionally bark when he sees another dog. This behavior can be easily corrected with a firm âAahh.â
Itâs worth mentioning that Harley is not particularly fond of small oodle-type dogs.
Inside the home, Harley is well-mannered and responds well to instructions. If a rug or bed is placed on the floor, he will settle on it after a couple of prompts.
However, he should not be left unsupervised indoors, just in case as he has a tendency to chew on his dog bed. Harley is quite content spending time outside if necessary.
In terms of independence, Harley is capable of being left outside while his foster dad is at work. He is happy to spend the day snoozing in the yard, and he would appreciate having a space to play ball and stretch his legs.
Harley is toilet trained and has an easy-to-care-for coat, making hygiene a breeze.
When it comes to food, he is fed a high-quality kibble and tends to graze throughout the day. He has a preference for chicken and wet food over other options and enjoys chewing on cow hooves.
Harley is a fan of car trips and travels well. He is content to watch the world go by from the back window, making him an excellent travel companion.
If you enjoy sleeping in, youâll find a kindred spirit in Harley. He sleeps soundly all night in the laundry on his bed but can be a bit reluctant to rise too early in the morning.
Harleyâs ideal home would be one where he can either be the only dog. He would do well with teenagers, although he hasnât been tested with young children. An active family that enjoys taking him on adventures and regular sniffy walks would be perfect for Harley. A family familiar with the heeler breed would be preferable, as they would understand his unique needs and characteristics.
