Our gentle and loving girl is ready for adoption! There is nothing Komoda loves more than a cuddle, and there isn’t a position she won’t wriggle herself into to get closer to you. Komoda has an enormous heart with infinite love to give.

Each day she is becoming more and more playful, we adore playing fetch and throwing any toy for her to retrieve (although recently she has assumed our slippers are her toys too!) Her personality is very whippet-dominated and therefore she would thrive in a secure garden with enough space for her to run around in circles. After 5 minutes of zoomies she will snooze on the couch for the rest of the afternoon. Komoda has low-moderate energy; she doesn’t require more than 2x short walks a day but would never say no to ‘walkies’ if you wanted to take her on a much longer day out. She also loves car rides!

She is very friendly towards other dogs. A non-essential but she would really benefit from having another dog in the home who she can learn from; she spent a long weekend at a friend’s home with another dog and they got on really well. She can be well influenced and imitate other’s behaviour, such as friendliness towards strangers, and even trying to imitate the sound of her squeaky toy!

She is well toilet and crate trained, happily sleeping in her crate every night. A quick learner, we taught her to sit and stay very easily. She can be left at home alone but would likely become bored or lonely if left for a full day, (we have left her for 3-4 hours max so far). Another dog in the home would likely resolve that issue and enable her to be left longer, if needed.

Komoda’s only wobbles can come when outside. Being the country girl she is, she can get spooked by sudden or loud noises on walks. She has grown more comfortable with this over time, but would be more at ease in a home that isn’t on or surrounded by main roads and city noises. She can be hesitant towards strangers at first but will be easily swayed by a little treat and their patience. There is not an aggressive bone in her body, and when scared by people or noises she will simply retreat backwards; she very rarely barks.

She is wonderful with children; Komoda spent a weekend at a friend’s home and really bonded with their 3-year-old boy, letting him play vet and climb on her for cuddles.

It has been such a joy seeing Komoda blossom more and more each day and we can’t wait for her continue this exciting journey in her forever home!
