đ©Â MEET ARTHUR RUSSELTON â YOUR LOYAL, LIVELY COMPANION!
Adoption Status: Ready to find his forever home đ
đ PERSONALITY & TEMPERAMENT
Arthur Russelton is a sweet, affectionate, and energetic young poodle who thrives on companionship and play. He's happiest when he's near his humans - whether curled up beside you or trotting along on a walk. He loves having his head patted and just melts and leans into you. Arthur is playful, curious, and loves soft toys, fetch, and exploring the world one sniff at a time.
đâđŠș SOCIAL LIFE & DOG INTERACTIONS
Arthur is currently living with a resident dog and getting along well most of the time. They play in a similar style and are learning to respect each other's boundaries. With supervision and a bit of strategy (like using two balls during fetch!), they're figuring out how to share space and playtime peacefully. Arthur does have some hyperarousal around new dogs.
* Dog Encounters on Walks: Arthur walks calmly alongside the resident dog but does freeze when he first sees a new dog. He has recently met other on-lead friendly dogs while out walking and he is very friendly and keen to do the sniffing and be sniffed in usual dog fashion. Arthur seems to love every dog he meets but can be over zealous at times and there is a need to be wary with small dogs.
đ¶ââïžÂ WALKS & ADVENTURES
Arthur is a star pupil on lead â he adores his walks! He's extremely curious and loves to sniff, mark and explore. Walks with Arthur are a sensory adventure - he's fascinated by every sight and sound!
đĄÂ HOME LIFE & HABITS
* Sleeps quietly overnight in his bed.
* House-trained with no accidents indoors.
* Settling well into his soft bed and enjoys cozy spots like lounge chairs (he's a bit cheeky about staying there!).
* Wary of stairs, especially going down, but manages short steps just fine.
* Travels beautifully in the car-quiet, calm, and content.
𧠠TRAINING & BEHAVIOR
Arthur is responsive to gentle correction and really does listen and is learning household boundaries and training commands quickly. He is getting quite consistent with lie down, shake, stay and with prompting sit and wait for his release word to eat his food. A very smart cookie!
He's curious about kitchen counters and needs reminders to stay down, but listens well to a firm "ah ah."
đŸÂ COMPATIBILITY
Arthur could do well in a home with another dog, especially one with a similar play style. He's still learning to share toys and space, so supervision and patience are key. No exposure to cats or children yet, so slow introductions would be important.
đ€Â NIGHTTIME ROUTINE
Arthur sleeps in his bed on the bedroom floor alongside his doggy foster sibling.
đ Â IDEAL HOME
Arthur would thrive in a home where he can be close to his people, enjoy regular walks, and have plenty of playtime. He's best suited to a household that can continue his training with patience and love. A home with minimal stairs or someone willing to help him build confidence with steps would be ideal. He'd love a canine companion with a similar energy level who is tolerant of his puppy play - or just a human who's ready to be his best friend.
If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and lively companion, Arthur Russelton might just be your perfect match. Come meet this sweet boy and see if he's the missing piece in your family puzzle! đ§©đ

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
