About Stumpy - 8 Month Old Dachshund X
Meet Stumpy, your future, floppy, furry best mate. An 8 month old Dachshund cross with plenty of personality.
Rescued from a fate he didn’t deserve, Stumps has quickly proven how much of a clever, good boy he really is. Even the vets mention his outstanding behaviour at his recent desexing and vaccination. This guy seems to be discovering what care, cuddles and being treated well really feels like and he’s loving every minute.
Stumpy’s main priority is food but a close second is to please his people. This makes him an absolute delight to train. In just the short time he has been in care, Stumps has come a long way. Learning to walk well on a lead and even stop at roads. He has learnt how to sit and wait for meals but most importantly, he has learnt boundaries with people and other dogs. His toilet training is almost 100%, he will let you know when he needs a door opened but will also pee on command if taken outside regularly.
This little guy has enjoyed playing with any dogs, large or small, who will indulge his puppy play energy. It seems he is only just learning what toys are for and we are currently enjoying learning to play fetch. He travels great in the car and loves an outing to Bunnings or the dog park.
To assist with him living his best life and transition well, he will require a home with another furry friend or someone who is home more often than not. Please only apply if you can fulfil all of Stumpy’s wishes for his forever home.
Stump’s Overview:
- Enjoys walks, playing with other dogs and just generally being involved
- Eating ALL food and treats. He even thinks medication is snacks.
- Toilet Training is 98% but may struggle at brand new places.
- Travels well in the car and on lead.
- Loves all people and dogs who will give him attention. Will cuddle with strangers.
- Not tested with cats or other pets.
