About Bandit
Hi! I’m Bandit and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BANDIT
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/w2PJL1AQAyrUrsxY7
NOTE: You are unable to meet Bandit until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet
Bandit in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate who is gentle and calm may be okay as boisterous dogs scare me so I will require lots of socialisation with positive experiences with other dogs.
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who’ll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• Doggy daycare and group socialisation classes would be highly beneficial for me.
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No super young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I’m a well-mannered dog
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans (once I get to know you)
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Well mannered
• I walk well on lead for an inexperienced doggie but having daily walks should help me improve my lead skills
• Happy-go-lucky Boy.
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• I have never been allowed inside before however I am hoping that my new family will allow me inside to make me feel included & part of the family.
