Heff’s had a rough start to life. After spending his first five years in a concrete pen, he missed out on the love, comfort, and safety every dog deserves. Because of this, Heff can be cautious around new people and unfamiliar situations—but give him time, patience, and kindness, and you'll be rewarded with the most loyal and affectionate companion.

Once Heff trusts you, he’ll never want to leave your side. He loves to gently nudge you for pats, follow you around the house, and then curl up for a long snooze nearby. He’s a quiet, low-maintenance boy who rarely barks and is content to watch the world go by from a cozy window spot.

Heff enjoys his daily walks and is building strength and confidence with each one. He walks nicely on lead, though his sense of space isn’t always perfect—expect to be bumped often! His back legs are still gaining strength, but he’s making great progress.

Heff takes medication for hyperthyroidism, which he will need for life, but he handles his routine like a champ. He's also fully house-trained and is perfectly happy staying home alone while you're out, always waiting patiently and quietly for your return.
