About Jerry
Meet Jerry! He is a friendly, playful, and intelligent white German Shepherd who enjoys being around people but is also content spending time on his own. 👌
He can be cautious with strangers and will bark if people enter the home, but settles quickly when he knows there is no threat. 👮♂️
In public settings, Jerry tends to ignore or avoid strangers and their dogs, showing no signs of reactivity or aggression. 🐾
He has lived with other dogs and generally does well with medium to large dogs, although he may be a bit anxious and avoidant at first. With small dogs, Jerry is avoidant, he’ll try to hide or move away but has never shown any aggression. 👍He is untested with cats or other animals. 🐱❓
Jerry was raised with children from ages 5 – 17, and is playful and gentle at heart, but he lacks awareness of his size and does have a tendency to “herd” smaller children. Because of this, a home with older children would be more suitable. 👨👩👧👧
He enjoys being outdoors, especially in warmer weather, 🌞 but likes to come inside when it’s cold. In the event of storms🌩 or fireworks ✨ Jerry will bark if he is left outside but settles down straight away and stops barking if he is indoors. He is house-trained. 🚽✔
Jerry enjoys walks and loves exploring shallow water at the beach or in creeks, though he does not like swimming. 🦮
He’s also known to jump on trampolines for fun and will chase sticks or balls but won’t bring them back. 🤪
Jerry has good recall and will come back to his name being called and the basic sit/stay commands. 🏆
He has had 6ft timber fences with a 5ft timber gate, and he has never attempted to escape. 👍
Jerry needs a home where he can live and sleep inside with his family and have access to a secured well fenced yard. 🏡

Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
Please note all our cats are indoor cats only.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
