With roots tracing back to the noble Ridgebacks of Africa-dogs once known for guarding villages and standing tall against lions-our sweet Roxy carries the name, but not the job description! The only "lion" Roxy faces is lying on the couch, soaking up every ounce of love and attention she can get.
At just 2 years old, this stunning Ridgeback mixed girl is the perfect blend of adventure and affection. Having already completed a road trip around Australia, Roxy is a seasoned traveler who's fantastic in the car, walks beautifully on lead, and is confident out in public. She's ready to keep exploring-maybe a little closer to home this time-with her new forever family.
Roxy would thrive in a home with younger kids, another friendly dog, and an active family who wants a dog to be part of everything. Whether it's a walk through the neighborhood, a beach day, or just curling up for movie night-Roxy is ready to be right by your side.
Sadly, her previous owner had to make the difficult decision to surrender her to BARC, but they've trusted us to help her find her next big adventure-and a family who will love her as much as they did.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
