About Kookaburra
Name: Kookaburra
Age: Young at heart, wise in whiskers
Personality Type: Social butterfly with a tail
Bio:
Meet Kookaburra - the happiest little explorer you'll ever pat! Just like her namesake bird, she brings joy wherever she goes (though her laugh sounds more like a purr). This friendly feline is a pro at making new friends, whether it's humans, toys, or sunbeams.
Kookaburra lives for pats - head pats, chin scratches, back rubs... she'll lean in with pure bliss and might even nudge your hand if you dare to stop. Affection is her love language, and she's not shy about asking for it!
When she's not soaking up snuggles, Kookaburra's all about adventure - the safe kind, of course! She's a curious soul who loves to explore indoors, patrol her catio like a little jungle queen, or strut her stuff in a harness like the stylish explorer she is. Trees? Fascinating. Bugs? Captivating. Cardboard box? Magical portal.
Ideal activities:
Birdwatching from a window perch
Gentle hikes around the living room
Harnessed garden strolls with her human entourage
Accepting compliments like the majestic creature she is
Kookaburra is equal parts cuddlebug and curious wanderer - the perfect companion for someone who wants a best friend to love, explore, and share snack time with.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
