Roderick is a confident junior learning to be a big boy. He will be your shadow, yet he also possesses an independent streak that makes him perfect to train into the mature dog you will be proud of
When it comes to his favorite activities, Roderick loves playing with his fellow canine, engaging in spirited games of tug-o-war, and chasing after the play rope I swing around for him.
And let’s not forget his love for food—Roderick is a true foodie who relishes every meal. And loves his Kong and snuffle mat.
In terms of his interactions with humans, Roderick is a confident little pup who delights in meeting new people.
Roderick would thrive in a family environment with children, provided they understand typical puppy behavior.
Roderick is currently living an elderly dog, and he is learning valuable skills from her. He is looking to play with a younger dog/dogs.
Occasionally, he might get a bit too excited and bark when he wants to play, but overall, he is a well-behaved little guy.

When it comes to obedience, Roderick is highly motivated by food, which makes training a breeze. He already knows how to sit and come and is in the process of learning commands like “toilet” and “bed,” While he is still learning his eagerness to learn is evident.

As for toilet training, Roderick is making great progress. He does well when taken outside regularly and is becoming familiar with the command “toilet.” He lasts the night through from around 11 to 6.30.

Being a young pup, Roderick is still growing, so his exercise sessions are kept short. He is learning to walk on a leash.Tug-of-war is another favorite game of his. While he can get a bit mouthy when excited when exercised he calms down as his energy has been released.

Roderick sleeps in a crate at night and, although he may protest for a few minutes, he soon settles down and sleeps soundly until around 6.30 a.m. when he goes out for a bathroom break. He has been put back in his crate and settled down for a couple more hours. (Great for a weekend sleep-in)

Inside the home, Roderick is still a playful pup and may get into a bit of mischief, but with enough toys and stern NO when he looks at shoes he leaves them alone.
Roderick has been on a few car rides and settles well during the journey. He is currently being fed high-quality puppy food, which we recommend continuing until he is at least 12 months old. His love for food makes training an enjoyable experience.

To Set him up for success we feel the most suitable home would be as follows

The ideal home for Roderick would be one that is committed to his training, especially during the first 18 months.
He would thrive with a companion who can handle his puppy antics, so a young dog that can teach him the ropes would be perfect.
A family with children would be great, as long as they are confident around dogs and understand that puppies can be a bit nippy with their needle-like teeth.
A home with space for him to stretch his legs and play would be ideal, as well as a family that will make Roderick an integral part of their lives.
A home with a medium to larger size backyard with grass, shelter, and secure fencing
If there is a dog in residence it must be well socialised and tolerant of puppy behaviour.
A home that is prepared to “ ride through” the fun puppy stage Stealing shoes, chewing everything and ensure he receives the training
and good socialization all puppies require a s the develop and mature
Not tested with cats but young enough to learn
A daily walk. Short walks while he is a puppy and his bones are developing and a home that loves to train younger dogs
