About Sally, the Greyhound
If you are interested in Sally, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/kpSn4PdsS2Uc7gDt6
Meet Sally, the small, sweet, gentle greyhound who's ready to fill a lucky household with love. Sally is a young girl with an extraordinary gentle nature that will touch your heart and endear you to her forever. Her quiet demeanour makes her the ideal companion for someone looking for a dog with a soft personality who thrives on cuddles and treats.
Sally does best in a serene environment, away from the noisy, busy streets of the inner city. A suburban, beach or country life would suit this gentle girl.
Currently living with two other greyhounds and a senior Pomeranian Sally’s preference is a home with a confident sighthound companion to guide her. She's particularly drawn to the calm demeanor of fellow greyhounds and other gentle dogs, a relationship that also helps boost her confidence. Showing no signs of separation anxiety, Sally can stay home alone for many hours. Her experience however, comes from always having dog company around her.
If you're in a quieter neighborhood with space for her to explore, Sally would adore a garden apartment or house where she can comfortably get to know her new surroundings. Sally is toilet trained and holds all night without issues. Her thick lustrous coat doesn’t shed, making her easy to care for.
Sally would do best in an environment with older, calm children due to her wariness around loud noises or sudden movements. All of which are improving with time and exposure. Routine and familiarity have been key. Children with greyhound experience would be welcomed.
Sally's leash manners are impeccable, she’s a true pleasure to walk, happily saying hello to other dogs and enjoying all the sniffs her world has on offer. Sally’s enjoying exploring her world at her own pace, slowly but surely. She lives by the beach and is discovering the joys of the water.
She's shown no signs of resource guarding and has learned to share spaces and food with her canine friends, displaying a natural tendency for calm, peaceful, harmonious living.
Sally has discovered the joys of toys and playing with her fellow greyhounds. She’s a quirky, funny girl who enjoys taking all the toys to the various beds around her home. She’s nosey and enjoys keeping an eye on the world outside from her window-side vantage points.
Positively responding to kindness and gentle guidance has seen Sally blossom into the perfect companion. Equal parts silly and soft.
She’s already learning indoor skills such as mastering stairs and different surfaces, has mastered the art of roaching, and basic training such as stay, down and bed. A smart girl with a desire to please, she will continue to grow and develop as she bonds with her family. With lots of love, exposure and patience, Sally reward her family with trust and boundless affection, interspersed with silliness and zoomies.
A note from her carer: Sally is that once in a lifetime dog, the heart dog we all hope to meet. There is a softness in her not often experienced, and ready to be shared with her special humans. It’s not often you get to experience a dog straight from racing, who’s essentially perfect. Sally is that perfect dog who wants nothing more than to be your best friend.
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
