Lenny is a sweet-natured, six-month-old Kelpie mix who is ready to find a loving forever home. This brave little soul has come a long way in a short time. Before coming into care, Lenny hadn’t experienced much of the world — no parks, no cuddles from kind humans, no soft bed to call his own. But since arriving in foster care, he’s been making incredible progress every single day.

Lenny would thrive in a home with a quiet, patient environment, a secure yard, a gentle & understanding owner who will go at his pace, and a friendly, confident resident dog to help show him that the world can be a great place ,despite his not so happy start to life.

Lenny is a naturally gentle and sensitive pup who is affectionate to people he trusts. With patience, kindness, and a steady hand, he has started discovering just how wonderful life can be. He loves quiet bush walks so he can sniff until his heart is content, and he loves a good wrestle with dogs his size. New people and places can still be a bit scary for Lenny, but he is trying his hardest to be brave and is showing more confidence with every positive experience.

In his foster home, Lenny has learned that treats are amazing, belly rubs are pretty great, and that he loves the company of other friendly dogs. A calm and confident canine companion would be a big help for Lenny as he continues to build trust and navigate the big wide world.

Because of his tough start, Lenny missed out on early socialisation and basic training, but he’s already picking up on the basics like toilet training, recall and sitting for food. His foster carer has been helping him build confidence through short training sessions to help him feel safe in new environments. They have also been working on exposure to new sounds, environments and people, going slowly at his pace and he is making great progress.

He’s not the kind of pup who’ll immediately bound up to you with a wagging tail, but give him time, and you’ll see the most rewarding transformation as he blossoms into a loyal, affectionate and loving companion.
