Get ready to smile, because we have some truly magnificent, healthy, and happy faces to introduce you to.

And what better way to kick off our dose of happy than with the absolute queen of sass, the tiny tornado, the one and only... Demi the Diva!

This little pocket rocket is exactly what we need to remind us of the boundless joy dogs bring.

Demi is a teeny-tiny Chihuahua x Dachshund, approximately two years old, and she embodies every single glorious, hilarious, and sometimes infuriating trait of these two incredible breeds.

Think big dog energy packed into a pint-sized package! She's confident, she's bossy, and yes, she absolutely has her nose in everyone's business.

She's always on the go, exploring, and telling the bigger dogs exactly where to sit and what to do! And smart? Oh yes – she'll outwit you with a single glance.

Despite their sometimes "barky" reputation when they don't get their way (and trust us, she will use that tactic to try and get her way), Chihuahuas and Dachshunds are also renowned for being incredibly affectionate lap dogs who absolutely adore their humans.

Demi is no exception – she's super affectionate, loves kids, and will absolutely, 100% expect to be snuggled up on the sofa, in your bed, or wherever the most comfortable spot happens to be!

Demi is booked in for her desexing next week, so she won't be ready to head to her forever home for another week or so after that. We'll be putting up a full bio once she's recovered and we've had more time to get to know her fabulous quirks!

Demi's adoption fee will be $875 and she is in foster care at Kallangur North Brisbane.

Now, speaking of fees, if you're about to type a comment about how expensive rescue dogs are, we'd like to gently (but firmly) suggest the following options:

A) You don't. You simply keep scrolling, perhaps because you don't fully understand the immense costs involved in legitimate, ethical rescue.
B) You take a moment to read our previous educational post regarding why fostered, healthy, fully-vetted rescue dogs are NOT expensive.
C) You remember that our current vet bill for four puppies battling Parvo is in the region of $16,000, and you keep that unhelpful thought to yourself.

Our fees cover a fraction of the costs involved in saving, rehabilitating, and vetting all our animals, and every cent goes straight back into rescue.

Please note: Adopters need to be located in the Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, or Gold Coast areas. We do not facilitate interstate adoptions.
