About Beau
Hi! I'm Beau and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BEAU
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/RPGK2GUyXr4YMMDn8
NOTE: You are unable to meet Beau until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Beau in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• I am a very shy boy who needs a kind and patient family to help me trust humans again, but I absolutely LOVE other dogs and come to life when I get to be with them so it is recommended that I go to a home with another dog to help me with my confidence and to keep me company.
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• I LOVE both friendly male and female dogs however I can be full on in play, so another dog with the same energy as me is a must.
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
My best features:
• Very playful with other dogs
• Gentle & placid
• I can sit
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans once I get to know them
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Very loyal and bonds quickly
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily walk.
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• I can sometimes initially be shy and try to avoid things going over my head (lead etc). It doesn't take long for me warm up.
