Kobe

Please meet Kobe, a sweet-natured 3 year-old female Mastiff mix with a gentle manner and a joyful spirit that makes you feel good just being around her. She weighs 30 kgs.

Kobe's story begins in August 2022 when she and her three littermates came into our care. She was quickly adopted and has enjoyed almost three years as an integral member of a devoted family, who guided her through puppyhood and adolescence. Now, as a mature dog, she is a fine testament to their care and training.

Due to a change in her family's circumstances and through no fault of her own, Kobe has been very reluctantly returned to us for rehoming. Her surrendering family have kindly provided all the photos and videos that form part of this profile.

Kobe is an exceptional companion dog. She loves humans, thrives on the company of other dogs, is gentle with puppies and is good with cats. Being a relatively large and strong girl, she is probably not a suitable companion for the very young or the very old.

Kobe walks beautifully on a loose leash and looks forward to her morning walk, following which she's quite happy to snooze the day away. Although she might get a bit excited when meeting other dogs on her walks, she has excellent dog-to-dog manners. The same cannot be said if she encounters a magpie. As far as Kobe is concerned, birds belong in the trees or in the air, not on her walking path.

At bedtime, Kobe is content sleeping indoors on her dog bed or spending the night on the verandah if the night is warm.

House-trained, placid and easy-going, Kobe is the essence of a well-mannered dog. She rarely barks.

As always, secure fencing is essential - and if you have prior experience with Mastiff mixes, all the better.
