About Luna
Meet Luna, a delightful female dog with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. Luna has had the opportunity to spend time with two foster families, and through these experiences, she has demonstrated her sweet and affectionate nature. Luna is an intelligent girl who happily sits for treats and thrives on positive reinforcement. Known for her confident play style, Luna is always up for an adventure and rides in the car with enthusiasm. Trips to the beach are a treat for her, and she's always excited to socialize with new canine friends.
Luna is comfortable being left in a garden oasis for a few hours. She enjoys sleeping on the bed with her human companions, soaking up all the love and warmth they offer. She's shown her adaptability by forming close bonds with the young son of her previous household, allowing him to pick her up safely.
While Luna initially approached strangers and men with timidity, she has shown remarkable progress in overcoming her fears through positive exposure and encouragement during her foster care placements. However, she can be a bit territorial and prefer attention in quieter settings, and has shown some resource guarding tendencies (which can be very normal for rescue dogs).
Given a stable and nurturing environment, Luna would thrive as the only dog in her new family or with a canine companion who matches her temperament alongside a family who are experienced with rescue dogs. Familiarity and routine are key in helping Luna continue to grow into her confidence.
Luna's ideal home would be one where she can be doted on and showered with love, perhaps with a family that enjoys outdoor activities and has experience with canine temperament so that Luna can continue feeling secure. With the right family dedicated to her well-being, Luna's affectionate heart and joyous energy will be a cherished addition to any household.

Adoption details
Please do not apply to adopt via our animals' PetRescue profile.
Follow the links below to be directed to the Wollongong City Council website, and find your preferred animal's online profile.
Once in the online profile, scroll down and click the link to complete an adoption application. Once received, a member of our team will be in touch to discuss your application and suitability for your preferred animal.
If we deem the animal to be suitable for your home and lifestyle, an in-person meet and greet may be organised. Should your meet and greet be a success, you can take your new furry friend home that day or following their desexing surgery. Our team will manage all your animal's paperwork, including ownership and vaccination documentation.
