Furneaux is a stunning golden girl with energy to burn! Super intelligent, both human- and food-focused, she would thrive in a home with someone active who can keep up with her - think runners, cyclists, or those committed to ongoing obedience training. In return, you’ll receive her absolute loyalty and love.

Furneaux adores people and is deeply devoted to her humans. She’s learning not to jump, but as a young dog, she occasionally forgets. Due to her size and enthusiasm, she’s not suited to homes with small children, as she may accidentally knock them over. Instead, she would flourish with a dedicated family of teens or adults who have experience with high-energy, intelligent breeds.

Before coming into care, Furneaux had no training and likely lived exclusively outdoors. Since being in foster care, she has made incredible progress. She’s now fully crate-trained, toilet-trained (only one accident on day one!), and has learned how to be calm inside the home. She still needs occasional redirection to settle on her “place,” but once she does, she’ll happily snooze while you relax or watch TV.

Furneaux rarely barks and enjoys spending time outside, especially when she’s had enough exercise. While she hasn’t shown unwanted behaviours in care, a lack of stimulation could lead to digging or chewing, so regular exercise is essential.

She loves other dogs, sometimes a bit too much! She’s very excitable and always ready to play. A calm, well-mannered dog sibling could be a great mentor to help her learn boundaries. Although she hasn’t had issues in care, she may not suit a home with small pets (like pocket pets), as her excitement could unintentionally hurt them. However, we’re open to slow introductions to assess compatibility.

On walks, Furneaux is fantastic on lead and currently uses a Halti/head collar. With consistency, she could transition to a standard lead soon. She’s eager to learn and already knows commands like Place, Sit, Lay (with great enthusiasm!), Touch, and Focus. She’s nearly mastered going through your legs on cue, a fun trick she’s working on now!

Her ideal home will commit to walking her twice daily, or giving her one long walk, run, or cycle session, paired with mental stimulation through training or enrichment games. Afterward, she’s happiest gnawing on a big bone while chilling outdoors.
