Meet Java – A Bright, Energetic Girl Ready to Be Your Best Friend

Java is a stunning, affectionate, and highly intelligent 5.5-year-old girl looking for a fresh start with her bonded sibling, Neko. Raised on a farm, Java is full of personality, charm, and loyalty. She has lived her whole life surrounded by other animals—including sheep, pigs, goats, alpacas, and parrots—and has always embraced her role as the farm's energetic "supervisor."

Java is extremely people-focused and wants nothing more than to please her humans. She adores belly rubs, going for car rides, swimming, and sunbaking when it’s time to wind down. She loves toys, responds well to direction, and is eager to learn—she knows her basic commands and is very trainable with consistency and love. Java thrives on affection and praise more than food, and her happiness is contagious (especially with that huge smile she flashes at everyone she meets!).

She is toilet trained, sleeps peacefully on her bed indoors, and walks nicely on a lead. Java is excellent with children (from toddlers to teens) and has always been loving and gentle in her interactions with them.

While Java is currently medicated to help manage her stress in her current home environment, her behaviour professionals agree this will likely no longer be needed once she and Neko are in a calmer, more structured home. Java’s current environment—impacted by recent challenges, multiple dogs, and a high-rescue setting—has simply become too stimulating and unpredictable for her wellbeing.

Importantly, Java is not aggressive. She has been assessed by a professional trainer who described her as strong-willed but lovely, with no red flags. Her current owners have worked hard to support her and Neko, but they now recognise that Java needs a home where she can be the focus, have routine, and feel secure.

Java would suit an active household or someone who enjoys daily walks and time outside. While she’s full of energy, she is equally happy relaxing at your feet or watching the world go by. She has adjusted beautifully to the routine of kennel life, showing she’ll thrive in a home with boundaries, structure, and love.

Java is not cat-friendly but is great with other dogs and farm animals. She’s available for adoption only, ideally alongside her brother Neko, as the two are very bonded and bring each other comfort and balance.
