About Neko
Meet Neko – A Gentle, Affectionate Boy Looking for a Fresh Start
Neko is a sweet, loyal, and slightly goofy 5.5-year-old dog in need of a calm, stable forever home. Raised on a farm with his littermate, he’s been surrounded by animals his whole life—sheep, pigs, goats, alpacas, and even parrots—and gets along beautifully with them all. He’s also been incredibly gentle and affectionate with children of all ages and has helped care for numerous foster puppies without issue.
Neko is toilet trained, walks well on lead, and adores car rides and napping in the sun. He’s food-motivated (he has a special love for mashed potatoes!) and thrives on companionship—he loves being near his people and sees himself as a bit of a lap dog. He doesn't require much exercise due to previous ACL surgeries and is happiest with a daily stroll and plenty of cuddles.
Neko is being rehomed due to a breakdown in the relationship with his long-time dog companion, who is older, deaf, and has special needs. After extensive training, veterinary input, and management efforts, his current owners have made the heartbreaking decision that rehoming is in everyone’s best interest—especially Neko’s. It’s important to note that this is not a general aggression issue; Neko has remained social and friendly with all other animals and dogs he's met. The conflict is specific to the long-term dynamic between the two dogs in the home.
His current owners love him deeply and have done everything they can, but they believe Neko would thrive in a more peaceful environment where he can feel secure and relaxed.
Neko is available for adoption and would do well as a solo dog or with another calm, well-matched companion. He’s a cuddly, affectionate boy who just wants to love and be loved.
If you think you can offer Neko the peaceful, loving home he deserves, please get in touch. You won’t regret it—he’s an absolute gem.
