Seeking a special home for a special furry feline.
Quilly Willy, as we affectionately call him, is a gentle soul with a sweet and loving nature and a lot of love to give.
When we think of Quill we think of a foster child who has bounced around the system and gone from foster home to foster home and has not yet found that perfect family who can appreciate him for who he is and who are willing to give him a red hot chance to become part of their family.
Quill originally came to us from the local RSPCA. Staff there were struggling to find the right home for him so they reached out to us to see if we would be happy to take him on. He had apparently been adopted and retuned a couple times as the families they had lined up for him were not the right fit. Hence the foster child analogy.
Quilly Willy is very low maintenance and is generally happy to just chill out and do his own thing. But he does love his people and he likes to keep an eye one what you are doing so he and will pick a spot nearby and snooze the day away. When the sun goes down he becomes more active and this is when his affectionate side will begin to shine through.
He loves a pat and a scratch, is happy to be picked up and smooched and will rub up against your legs or flop around in front of you, looking adorable, when he's in the mood for attention. But pats in small doses are the way to go, particularly when he's just settling in, as he does not like too much touching initially. As he gets to know you he will become more and more affectionate but initially a scratch for a minute or so is enough and Quill will give you a gentle nip to say "no more touching human" if you're overdoing it.
But once he gets to know you he can become INSANELY affectionate. He will often jump up on the desk while we're working and either rub up against you or plonk himself down next to your keyboard, looking adorable. When you're sitting on the couch he will snuggle up against you and demand cuddles and if you're curled up in bed watching a movie he will jump up and have a cuddle with you.
It's very much affection on his terms but when he's in the mood he's he's REALLY in the mood.
Quilly Willy is also used to being around other cats ais generally pretty relaxed in a multi-cat environment. He enjoys playing with our resident ginger menace but he can somtimes take play too far and become bossy, so he needs a home with a strong alpha male cat who can put him in his place or a strong owner who isn't afraid to step in and tell him no.
Like most foster children who have been in the system for a while and bounced from home to home, Quill does not understand what the rules are and is always pushing the boundaries to see where the limit is. So he needs a strong authority figure in his life who can set firm boundaries, teach him what is ok and what is not ok, who can reward him when he's good and punish him when he's naughty.
Once you get to know him you'll see the signs and can usually put him in his place with a firm "no". He responds very quickly to males ( men ) in particular.
But for the most part we think Quill really needs stability. He has been moved around that many times that it will most likely take him a long time to settle and truly feel like he is home. We can see him becoming an insanely affectionate and very loving little gentleman as time goes by and he begins to mature. He just needs someone to give him a chance.
We would love to find Quill a home with an experienced cat owner who is willing to give him the time and love he needs to settle into his new home and let his beautiful personality begin to shine through. Someone who is patient but can provide guidance and discipline as well as love.
A professional who works from home and is searching for a low maintenance companion or a young couple with a lot of love to give would be perfect.
The elderly or a family with young kids would not be suitable.
Quill is approximately 1 year 9 months old and has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and is available for adoption right meow.
If you think you have the room in your heart and your home to provide this gorgeous little soul with a great life please let us know and we’ll be more than happy to arrange a time for you to meet and fall in love with him.

A little about us:
Urban Feline Australia is a newly established cat rescue service, run by one passionate individual with the help of friends and volunteers, that is dedicated to keeping cats out of kill shelters and helping them find loving forever homes. We specialize in helping "surrenders" which are cats that have lived with humans previously but for one reason or another their owners are unfortunately no longer able to look after them. We take your pets into our amazing cat sanctuary where they're treated with love and affection until the right forever home is found for them.
Urban Feline Australia is not a large company with government resources, a large facility and a lot of staff. Our tiny rescue is a one man operation run from the safety of our own home. We do this for the love of animals and our only agenda is to save as many cats as we can. We rely heavily on cooperation from friends, other rescues, our amazing foster carers and the kindness of strangers to survive. Every cent we receive from donations and adoption fees is used to keep our rescue running and cover the cost of food, water, litter, equipment and vet bills for the animals in our care.
We are doing as much as we can right now but our dream is to one day be able to purchase a larger property or facility that would allow us to be able to save the lives of many more cats in need. Perhaps even open a cat cafe so that we can spread our message to a wider audience.
