Barbara has lived through heartbreak – but her spirit is unbreakable.

Once discarded in a rural pound after a life of being used, likely in a puppy farm, Barbara came to us broken, sore and shut down. She had mammary tumors, rotting teeth, and a look in her eyes that said she’d given up.

But today? Today she is safe. She is loved. And now… she’s ready to be yours. 💖

🛏️ Barbara is a classic little velcro girl who sleeps in your bed and will bark indignantly if you shut her out – she’s earned the right to be close, and she knows it!
🐶 She’s great with gentle kids and gets along with other dogs, including large, calm ones.
🐱 She’ll live with dog-savvy cats, but if they run, she’ll chase – so confident cats only, please!
🚗 She hates the car and despises being crated – we suspect she spent far too long locked up and won’t go back.
💩 She’s not 100% toilet trained, but she reliably uses puppy pads indoors. She may do well once she is fully settled and there is possibly a dog door to use or someone to take her out often and build that routine.

Barbara recently had two mammary tumors removed and underwent full dental extractions – she now smiles with her whole face, pain-free and proud.

More than anything, Barbara wants to be with you. She’s not a dog who wants adventure or excitement – she just wants quiet love, a soft lap, and the promise that she’ll never be unwanted again.
