About Lyla
Lyla is nearly four years old and is an absolute beautiful purebred brush coat shar pei. She is very healthy and has a friendly, yet protective demeanor. Very loyal. Lyla would definitely suit a home made up of females. She is dog and cat friendly - although smaller puppies she is a bit afraid of. Lyla is protective of her female humans and children especially around strange men - no real aggression, just growling (please note, it will take some time for Lyla to trust any man in her new household). We attribute this to experiencing DV in her previous home. Lyla does not like fluoro shirts (like tradie shirts) - but she is getting less anxious about this. She absolutely loves to be taken on walks and lives for them. She is happy with even a half an hour walk per day - but if she doesn't get one, she can sulk. She would be happier with a family, rather than a single person and have people home (or another dog) for company. I do work long hours, and Lyla is not destructive at all when left alone, however she is much happier not being alone for hours on end. She does not chew things she is not supposed to, barely barks and has good food manners. I have worked on Lyla's commands and she knows sit down (although stubborn), up, stay, wait, go and on your mat. If she sees her lead, she goes a little nutso and jumps in the air like a crazy dog - but other than that - she is pretty chill. Lyla loves the beach and is very good off lead once she knows you are her human. She is great in the car and out in public - but may give a small growl to males every now and again. Lila is a snorer but sleeps all night with no issues. She really is amazing and deserves an amazing, loving forever home. Her foster carer loves her very much but knows Lila's forever home should have a nice sized yard and someone home more hours than she can give.
