About Chance
G'day, I'm Chance. I was born on 1 August 2023 and I've been described more than once as "particularly handsome".
But looks aren't everything, so I want to tell you a bit about myself. The good folk at Southern Downs ARK said, "Write your own profile, Chance", so here goes.
I'm not your typical Maremma.
The typical Maremma is innately loyal, nurturing and protective. He's gentle and loving with his family, especially the kids. He thrives on companionship and doesn't like being left alone too long. He's a great watchdog and will bark that deep-throated Maremma bark if he senses there's something to be concerned about.
I'm all those things, BUT what sets me apart from the typical independent-thinking Maremma is that I'm keen to listen and keen to learn. I know how to sit, stay, shake and I can walk nicely on a lead.
I'm not aloof. If my foster mum tells me that a human is okay, that's fine by me. I've been to the markets on leash and I've been to the groomers and, gosh, I've done well.
The last thing I want is to live in a paddock with sheep or goats. I love being inside with my family. When they're around me, either inside or outside, I'm calm and happy.
I'm also happy to share my home with another dog, provided they're up to big dog play! As for cats, I can live with them indoors, but they're not my preferred company.
I absolutely love kids. Just having them around me makes me as happy as a dog with two tails. I like to sleep next to my 3yo foster sister's bed.
If I sound like your kind of canine, please complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and one of the nice people at ARK will be in touch.
