About April
Dear little April has been on trial with a family and it has come to light that she suffers separation anxiety and barks while home alone, even with another dog.
The vet has advised that she would do best in a home where someone is home all the time (as in one household member, not meaning her adopter should never leave home!) while slowly working on her separation anxiety issues.
A female household would be April’s dream come true, but is not essential.
Please read original post below for further details.
April is a mini daschund with one long and one short haired parent. She’s a “happy medium” haired girl.
April is great with other dogs, cats and children.
She wasn’t house trained when she came into care but has caught on beautifully and is mostly reliable inside, happily using a doggie door to take herself in and out. April likes squeaky toys, treats and a cow hoof or similar to chew on. She is easy to feed enjoying both raw, cooked and dry food.
April settles well at night, either in her crate in our bedroom or on a doggie bed in the living room.
April is initially a little timid of new people but not for long.
She would love a home where someone is around more often than not and a canine companion would be a bonus.
We make the adoption process as easy as possible, see Adoption Process below.

Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions - a very healthy girl.
She weighs around 5.5 kg.
