Looking for a tiny, timid soul with the biggest heart in the Hundred Acre Wood? This adorable 18-month-old male tuxedo cat is named Matteo, and he’s the perfect real-life version of everyone’s favorite shy, pink-eared best friend: Piglet!

Just like Piglet, Matteo can be wonderfully shy and hesitant at first. When he arrives in a new place, he might find a safe little corner to observe from (much like Piglet hiding behind Pooh), watching the world with those big, gentle eyes. Don’t worry, this is classic Piglet behavior! Give him time, patience, and a little kindness, and just like Piglet with Winnie the Pooh, Matteo will form the sweetest, most loyal bond.

Once Matteo knows he’s safe and loved, he transforms into the most affectionate little companion. He’ll start rubbing up against your legs with happy purrs, jumping up on the couch to demand cuddles, and seeking you out for head scratches and lap time. He has the purest, gentlest soul, exactly like Piglet’s quiet bravery and enormous capacity for love.

A Very Important Note from Piglet’s Foster Home:

Matteo, like Piglet, really needs his own Winnie the Pooh. He thrives best in a home that already has a friendly, gentle cat around his age (ideally another young adult) who can be his constant companion.

In his foster home, he has done wonderfully with another calm cat friend. A feline buddy would help him feel secure and bring out his most playful, loving personality. He cannot be an only cat, he truly needs that Pooh-and-Piglet friendship in his forever home.

A home with a friendly existing cat (his future Winnie the Pooh!)
Quiet, gentle young children - he loves sleeping snuggled up with his foster family’s daughter
Calm households where he can feel safe to come out of his shell

He may not do well with loud, boisterous kids or very chaotic environments, just as Piglet prefers the peaceful parts of the Wood.

Matteo is a beautiful young tuxedo cat with classic black-and-white markings, soft fur, and the most endearing little face. At 18 months old, he still has all the playful energy of youth combined with the sweet, snuggly nature of a true companion.

He has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and is Located in Seaford with his amazing foster family.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
