Axel was recently surrendered by his owner of 4+ years who was unable to continue caring for him. He is a gorgeous boy who loves cuddles and ear scratches.
He came into foster care well trained and already knowing how to sit and will wait until told that he can eat his food. Axel is a slow eater and does love to share leftover human food too.
He loves to play ‘catch the treat’ in the kitchen with his doggy foster brother and shares exceptionally well.
He has settled into the routine of his foster home well and is sleeping in a crate overnight, however previously slept inside on his dog bed.
We think that Axel would do equally well as an only dog or with another dog. He has previously lived with 2 other dogs, cats and chickens as well as small children.
Axel is a very independent older boy who seems to be equally comfortable chilling on his own or with people.
Although Axel looks a bit fierce, he is anything but, so if you want a dog that looks and sounds like a deterrent but is just a big softie, Axel is for you. He does have a deep and distinctive bark, and when he sees you in the morning or when you get home from work, he tells you quite loudly how much he has missed you as he comes running to greet you.
He has a BIG personality and often makes his humans laugh when he is seemingly trying to tell us something.
Axel is $350 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated and given flea, tick and worm preventatives.
