Meet Lady Winifred or Winnie for short!
Quick Facts
• Tan, Short Hair Female Dachshund who is 14 months old & weighing 6kg
About Winnie
Lady Winifred (Winnie) is a gentle soul who will steal your heart with quiet affection. Though initially timid, she quickly attaches herself to her person like a loyal little shadow. In her foster home, she’s shown a sweet and gentle nature, especially around children and other dogs.
Personality Highlights
Winnie is a calm, cautious girl who thrives with a patient and understanding human. She’s especially wary of new people—particularly males—but with time and kindness, she blossoms into a snuggly and devoted companion. True to her name, Lady Winifred carries herself with quiet grace and enjoys simply being near her people. She’s surprisingly quiet for a dachshund and rarely barks unless she feels it’s really needed.
Current Training Progress
• House Training: Fully toilet trained and confidently uses a dog door to go outside
• Lead Skills: Still gaining confidence, so slow introductions to walks are best
• Social Skills: Timid with new people but very loving once trust is built. Great with other dogs and children
Daily Care
• Diet: Enjoys a balanced diet suited to small breeds
• Exercise: Prefers gentle play and pottering around the yard with dog friends
• Sleep: Settles well at night, especially if she can curl up close to her person
• Behaviour: No signs of aggression. Shares space well with other dogs and enjoys peaceful environments
Winnie would flourish in a home that offers:
• A calm, patient household willing to let her come out of her shell in her own time
• Gentle routines and a stable environment
• Canine companions—she gains confidence from other friendly dogs
