Our Adoption Process

We’re so glad you’re thinking about adopting! Here’s a little overview of how the process works.

First, we’ll have a quick chat over the phone to get to know you and answer any questions you might have. From there, we’ll organise a time for you to come meet the animals – these visits are by appointment, as they take place in our homes. Most meet-and-greets happen on weekends, but we’re happy to work around your schedule if we can.

During the visit, you’ll be introduced to the cat(s) you’re interested in. It’s a great chance to spend time with them, see their personalities, and start building a connection. You’ll have plenty of time to play, cuddle, and get to know your potential new companion.

We understand that adopting is a big decision, so you’re more than welcome to come back for another visit (or a few!). If you’re heading away on holiday, we suggest waiting until you return – we’ll always have wonderful cats and kittens for you to meet when the time is right.

We also have a few easy questions we ask all our adopters. These help us match each animal with the best possible home and ensure a great fit for everyone involved. For example, we might ask:
- Do you rent or own your home? If you’re renting, do you have permission to keep pets?
- Are you looking for an indoor-only cat, or one that might eventually enjoy supervised outdoor time?
- Do you have children at home, and what are their ages?
- Do you have other pets, and what kind?

It’s also helpful for us to know about your lifestyle, any previous experience with pets, and what kind of personality you’re hoping for in your new furry friend.

These questions help us make thoughtful, lasting matches. Sadly, many animals lose their homes due to circumstances that could’ve been avoided – like housing changes, financial stress, or simply a mismatch between a pet’s needs and a household’s lifestyle.
