About Fornix
Fornix is a super pretty breed called the Turkish tumbler. He was found next to the road limping so badly everyone assumed his leg was broken.
Fortunately, the vet ruled out bone fractures, and instead indicated a foreign body. Fornix had swallowed a metal nut while foraging! This was likely due to him being lost for a while and being extremely emaciated, resulting in him picking up something he shouldn’t have 🤒.
Lead poisoning causes a range of neurological symptoms, and in Fornix’s case it had partially paralysed his leg.
Fornix was started on EDTA therapy, and within two rounds of it his leg is no longer paralysed, he has gained weight and he is ready for his new home where he will always have a bowl full of tasty seed to eat out of!
Medical notes
Lead poisoning resulting in paralysis - no longterm issues predicted.
