Hello I am Barkley! I am a gentle 3 year old red standard poodle who loves being with other dogs.
I would prefer a quiet family where someone is home most of the time and I would benefit from another dog in the home. I love to play! Ball games are just super and where my goofy side will shine ⚾️⚾️⚾️
I am abit scared of 'spicy clouds' (storms) and so I need access to a safe space. I am an indoor gentleman when no hoomans are about and enjoy the garden, veranda, and garage otherwise. A small yard would suit me just fine.
I am the goodest boy at the groomers and have been going to bubble and clips on Bribie island for the past year and half. I love going for travels in the car 🚘 I am kind towards all others animals. Only problem is I get nervous around new people and small humans can be scary too.
I love sitting on the sofa, but if im told to get down, I will. I do want you to be happy. I sleeps on a raised dog bed with a dinosaur quilt and loves my toys. I struggle with being approached, but with time, I build trusts. A solid routine is good for me. I really need someone with patience and a gentle approach. But I have a pure heart of gold and the right person will be rewarded if you too have a heart of gold to match 🤞🐾
💪 To build a bond and an easier transition for Barkley, several meet n greets will need to occur with the hooman/s we feel is most suitable for Barkley. This is a non-negotiable. Barkley really loves other dogs. He is also great with cats and knows to be very calm around them. So additional pets either now or in the future is no issue at all, in fact, it is preferred.

➡️ First in best dressed does not apply here as we are solely seeking the best person for Barkley (as we do with all our SLPR pets) who can demonstrate they understand his needs. His adoption fee is the same fee as all our dogs are and includes all vetwork completed.
We expect this handsome man will be popular, however, again, we will only be exploring those that can support Barkley best and have the right environment.
