💙 Meet Zac – Full of Heart, Waiting for His Person 💙

Zac is a beautiful 1-year-old Staffy x Kelpie mix who has been patiently waiting in foster care almost his entire life after being rescued from a neglect situation as a small, scared, emaciated pup and we think it’s finally time the right person finds him. He’s clever, playful, and bursting with personality – and when he loves you, he really loves you. Zac is all heart and just wants to be someone’s loyal sidekick through thick and thin.

He’s got energy to burn and a big zest for life. Zac loves walks (even if he does need a bit of help with lead manners) and absolutely lives for a game of fetch. He knows how to “sit” and will wait patiently for his dinner like the good boy he is. He’s food motivated and responsive to learning – a great combo for anyone ready to continue his training.

Although he's fine when left at home alone, Zac craves constant connection when his people are home, which if we're honest, can get a little annoying. He wants to be involved in everything, and sometimes that means barking or chewing things to get their attention. He’s still learning better ways to express himself, and he’ll thrive with someone who’s patient, consistent, and committed to helping him work through his challenges.

He’s also learning to feel safer around new people. Zac can be fearful when strangers approach and will bark to let them know he's not comfortable. He has recently started on anxiety medication to support him. What he really needs is a calm, understanding human who will advocate for him – someone who’s happy to say “no pats, please” on walks and introduce new people slowly and gently.

Zac has lived with children before, but because he still gets a bit excited and jumps up, he’d be best suited to a home with older kids or teens. He’s great with other dogs at the park and is totally fine with cats too – he’d love a doggy friend to play with in the right home.

Zac isn’t a “perfect dog” – but let’s be honest, who is? What he is is loyal, smart, full of love, and ready to be someone’s very best friend. He just needs that someone to see him, take a chance, and help him become the amazing dog he’s meant to be.
