About Barkley
Meet Barkley - Your Wise, Whiskered Gentleman
Looking for a little more calm in your life but still want a companion with a bit of spirit? Meet Barkley, our 7-year-old ginger gentleman with a heart full of warmth and a soul steeped in feline wisdom.
Barkley is the perfect blend of calm and character. While he's left his wild kitten days behind, he's still fit, active, and enjoys a good stretch in a sunny spot or a slow, dignified play session. He's not one for chaos or competition - Barkley prefers to be the only cat in the house, where he can shine as your loyal companion and unchallenged king of the castle.
He enjoys his independence and appreciates a home that respects his wise and peaceful ways. That said, he never misses a 4:30 pm dinner and expects a soft bed (and maybe a few ear scratches) by 8. He's got his routine, and he's proud of it.
Barkley would thrive in a home with older children who can appreciate his calm nature and learn from his gentle presence. He's a grounding force - a calming influence for any household, and equally at home with working professionals, retirees, or families looking for a bit of feline grace.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
