Meet Avalon,
Are you looking for a furry best friend who’s always up for a good time? Avalon is a bright, bubbly sweetheart who’s ready to fill your days with tail wags and happy vibes!
Avalon is the perfect mix of social and affection. She's curious about the world, loves a good sniffari on her walks, and never says no to a cuddle. Whether you’re heading out for an adventure or just hanging out at home, Avalon will be right there with a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes. Friendly and outgoing, Avalon gets along with just about everyone she meets — humans and dogs alike! She’s confident and thrives on interaction, making her a lovely fit for families, singles, or couples, whether you're new to dog ownership or a seasoned pro.
She’s also beautifully adaptable, happily slotting into any household routine. While she enjoys her walks and staying active, she’s not overly demanding — just a happy girl who loves being part of the action.
Ideal Home: Avalon is suitable to live in any property type, and yard size is of no concern either. Just as long as the yard is fully fenced and secure.
Family: Avalon is open to meet kids of any age. She is fine to spend time in the yard on her own but is the type of dog that can live full time inside the home. Avalon is fine to live with people who work (regardless of their work schedule) as she is independent and easy-going.
Furry Friends: Avalon is open to meet dogs. While she is not interested in playing with them, she can be around them, walked with them and near them without any issues. She has been on many social walks with other dogs in our care but is more eager to walk than interact with the other dogs. She has only met other dogs close to her size - she has not met larger dogs.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Avalon would go living with/meeting cats & pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Training & Development: Avalon would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience.
With additional training, and time to adjust into her new home and new routine, Avalon could be the type of dog that you could take to a dog friendly café or social setting.
Avalon is still learning her name, but he knows commands such as: sit. She is food motivated too, and is gentle when taking treats from you - but she can be fussy with what treats she likes - so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea - it just might take some time to find a treat that she likes. So far devon seems to be a good choice for her!
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Avalon has low to mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise, play, or walks from 20-30mins every other day to keep her happy. Avalon doesn't show interest in playing with toys currently, she prefers walks, cuddles or personal play with her handlers.
Avalon walks well on lead and walks best on a harness.
Staff Comments: Avalon is an easy going and agreeable little girl. she is sweet and friendly and loves to be near you. She can have moments of vocalisation - usually when she wants your attention - she loves to be the centre of your world.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
