Candelo is a beautiful, very affectionate, quiet girl who is seeking a special kind of family – one with patience, kindness and time to let her grow at her own pace. Candelo has had a rough start to her life and is understandably shy around new people, in particular new men (yep, she's a girls-girl), therefore she will need a calm, predictable home where she can feel safe and secure. Once Candelo gains trust, she becomes the most affectionate, lap-loving puppy.

Candelo is very in-tune to people’s body language and tone. She can totally tell who the confident doggy people are. In return, she will need a family who can read her body language equally as good. Despite this, since coming into her foster home she has had daily coffee dates, visits to the local police station and regular beach trips to increase her exposure and help her realise life / people aren't scary, which she is getting better and better with every day. Once Candelo feels safe, she is the happiest, cuddliest puppy. She is the cutest bed bug who loves to snuggle her carers during quiet time, but don't be fooled she equally LOVES her zoomies.

Candelo is currently in a foster home with 2 resident dogs and lots of foster cats. Candelo does find reassurance having the other dogs in her home as they show her the world is safe therefore her ideal home would include another dog, however it is not essential if the right fit comes along who is willing to work with her. She absolutely loves the cats, she allows them to walk and cuddle all over her. Sometimes she tries to join in with their game of chasey, forgetting her size but she is very receptive to their cues if she gets too much.

Candelo is house trained perfectly. She knows sit, shake and takes treats extremely gently. Despite this, she would really benefit from a course of doggy training, to continue her exposure and trust growth.
