About Missy
Missy is a thoroughly modern miss and like her black and white harlequin face, she has two sides to her. Missy is a happy go lucky medium sized dog; nothing seems to faze her and she is happy inside, outside, going for rides in the car, playing at the park and on the boat. Of course, she prefers to be with her people having adventures or being made a fuss of, like all dogs.
Missy likes people and other dogs. She is happy to meet everyone and gets along with all and sundry. Along with that, she is happy to sit quietly and be the dog you want her to be as your companion.
She knows basic commands of sit, out and off. She has good recall at the park. This has been tested with other people but not with other dogs around. Missy isn't very interested in chasing a ball. Sometimes she will but rarely brings it back. She also likes the beach but hasn't shown interest in swimming.
Missy loves her walks and is very well behaved but does apply pressure to the lead. Missy’s new people can work on this, but it is not a big problem.
Missy rarely barks and when she does it will be a once off woof of excitement. She occasionally gives a howl of excitement which is the cause of much merriment when she howls along to emergency service sirens.
Missy is great with older children and with younger children at the park. She can jump when excited so probably best from about school age onwards.
Missy is trustworthy inside and hasn't chewed anything however she has had the occasional toileting accident overnight, nothing that some training cannot fix. She isn't fussy with food.
Missy can jump as high as the back door handle but hasn't shown any inclination to jump a fence. She did excavate a hole under the fence when she was on heat but didn't do this before or after being on heat so we suspect it was driven by her hormones. She hasn't done any other digging. All in all, Missy is a gorgeous dog and will make a wonderful companion for a family who can show her love, affection and a little fun, an investment in which she will give a lot in return.
