About Buddy
Buddy's Bright Future: A Journey of Love and Resilience
Buddy arrived with us from a rural pound, a broken puppy whose early life had left deep, invisible scars. But even then, a glimmer of the absolute ray of sunshine he is today shone through. This incredible Ridgeback x Cattle mix has shown resilience beyond measure, and while his journey to healing is ongoing, he’s blossoming into a truly wonderful companion who brightens every single day.
Buddy needs someone who understands his history and is prepared to work through his challenges with unwavering kindness and empathy. His early trauma means he still has moments where worry might creep in, but his confidence is growing with every passing day. He thrives with the steady presence of another secure dog, which we feel is a must for him as a canine friend makes all the difference, helping him feel bolder and more at ease. There isn't a hair of aggression on his entire body, just a gentle, loving soul navigating a new, safer world.
Beyond his journey of healing, Buddy is, in every way, a pleasure to have around. He's a perfect crate sleeper, resting soundly right next to his doggy friend, indicating his comfort with routines and companionship. Meal times are a polite affair, he sits patiently for dinner and offers a grateful bark of thanks. He’s completely toilet trained – a good boy on this front! He’s a loyal shadow, happy to follow you around, quickly learning your routines and becoming an integral part of your day.
This affectionate boy is learning to come for pats once he trusts you, and at night, he loves nothing more than snuggling up, sometimes even sleeping right on you, a testament to the trust he’s building.
Buddy loves children, but can be a little excited so just needs watching with the little ones.
Could you be the forever home Buddy deserves? He is desexed, fully vetted, and up to date on all flea and worm treatments. His adoption fee is $595.
If you believe you can offer Buddy the patient, understanding home he needs, a life filled with the love and happiness he so deeply deserves - please send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the amazing life you could offer him. He has been through so much, and it's time for him to know only joy.

Adoption details
At Village Tails, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
