About Sarah
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Patience to continue building Sarah's confidence when out walking
- A quiet home life
- Ideally another medium/large dog
- A grassed yard for zoomies
- Children over 12 years
Sarah is a young, highly affectionate fawn girl that loves a cuddle! She is comfortable around people and other greyhounds, but is also more than happy to be left at home on her own for long periods of time. She loves toys (squeaky ones are her favourite!) and will happily throw them around all by herself. She will also collect all her toys (and sometimes other items too!) in her spot in the backyard or inside the house.
Sarah can be quite anxious in new social settings and will need some work still to build her confidence further. She is also rather nervous of cars. She has come a long way though, and will stop and watch as a car goes past on walks, but will happily continue on once it's gone. She is much prefer to walk on rail trails or plantations, where there is peace and no cars. She also loves to stop and check in with you while shes going on her walk!
She can jump into the back of the car, though will sometimes asks to be lifted. Sarah has learned to pace to let you know when she needs to go outside for toiletting.
Due to her young age, she can get a bit silly and rough when playing and running, so she would not be suitable for a home with younger children. Obviously, she will thrive more in a quiet home in a rural area.
Ideally, it would be great for her to go to a home with another dog to help her gain more confidence. However she is currently living okay as a solo dog and has playdates with another female greyhound.
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
Medical notes
