Meet Maya – Courageous, Clever & Ready for Her Forever Home 🐾

Hi everyone, I’m Maya – a 22kg Staffy mix with the sweetest smile and the cheekiest little underbite!

My name means courage and bravery in Māori, which feels just right for me. At only 8 months old, I found myself abandoned in a pound, unsure what I had done wrong. Luckily, a kind rescue saved me, and over the last 7 months I’ve been learning, growing, and showing everyone just how much love I have to give.

💫 About Me:

I’m 15 months old, still a teenager learning about the world

Super smart and eager to learn – I graduated from Pro Dog Level 2 Obedience Group Class & Dynamic Canine Intermediate group class with flying colours!

House trained, crate trained, and a champion sleeper (10pm to 7am – even later on weekends 💤)

Love enrichment games, tug toys, adventure walks, car rides, and of course cuddles under the doona

🌟 What I’m Looking For:
I dream of a family who:

Loves the Staffy breed and has experience with curious adolescents like me

Has time to continue my training and guide me as I mature into a well-balanced dog

Can include me in family life – I want to be part of the team!

Because I’m still learning, I’ll do best in a home with:
1. No young kids (under 12) just yet

2. No current dogs or cats – I need more time to build confidence with new friends

3. Lots of patience, understanding, and love 💛

⚡ Other Things to Know:

I’m not suited to apartment living or interstate adoption

I can be left alone for 4–5 hours max, preferably in my crate where I feel safe

Dog parks and big crowds are overwhelming right now – but I’m working on my social skills slowly and steadily

People who meet me say I’m bubbly, playful, affectionate, and full of potential. I’m also very in tune with human emotions – I know when you’re having a tough day and will snuggle in to comfort you.

🐕 Adoption Support:
My rescue family will support you every step of the way. They’ll provide:

1. Training notes from my journey so far plus meeting sessions with my trainer will be provided so you too are set for success like me.

2. Supplies for the first 2 months (Food , Treats, Worming tablets, Bed, Toys, Collar Leash...everything I have will be coming with me) plus my whole wardrobe 😀

3. Ongoing lifetime support through a dedicated WhatsApp group
