About Sooty
Sooty is a playful, curious, and affectionate young cat who's just under 2 years old. With his shiny black coat and bright, expressive eyes, he's as handsome as he is sweet.
He loves interactive toys, exploring new spaces, and following his humans around like a loyal shadow.
He's still got that youthful energy-chasing toys, investigating nooks, and zooming around when the mood strikes-but he's also happy to settle down for snuggles or naps in a cozy spot. Sooty would make a wonderful addition to most homes, including families with other cats or gentle kids.
Sooty is the perfect age-not a tiny kitten, but still full of fun and curiosity. He's social, affectionate, and already knows his way around a home. Black cats like Sooty are full of love and personality, even if they're sometimes overlooked.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
