About Lucy
Say hello to the sweetest baby girl on the block, Lucy!
We're not going to sugarcoat it, Lucy has a tough start to life and is still learning how to trust. Brought here as a stray, Lucy is finding the world and new environments very scary. Preferring the comfort of a quiet home over a busy dog park, Lucy is a girl with so much potential just lurking under the surface of a nervous nature.
She's already learning the basics like sit and wait, but will still need some training in other aspects of her life, such as toilet training and jumping on her favourite people top say hello. She is crate trained, and loves to use her crate as a safe space when she needs some personal time. While Lucy would be happy to go home with any kind of family, if there are little children running around Lucy would prefer if they can respect her space, and understand that she's not a 24/7 playtime pup that you can rub your hands all over her (not yet anyway!).
She'd be happy to go home with another dog friend, someone she can learn from and who can teach how to be the best big dog she can be! Due to her current temperament, she'd be best suited with a canine friend who is not the most boisterous dog on the block would be best, one who can match her wavelength.
What Lucy needs most is a quiet, loving home with someone who understands that healing doesn't happen overnight. Someone who's willing to go at her pace, celebrate the small victories, and offer gentle reassurance along the way. When she's feeling safe her true personality starts to shine through, and a snuggly playful pup begins to say hello. Possibly the definition of sooky, when Lucy finds her people she's a cuddler through and through, and her cries will be heard if she's not getting enough attention from you.
With the right person, Lucy will become the loving, devoted dog she was always meant to be. Are you the safe place Lucy has been waiting for? Come down and adopt her today!
Weight: 10.7kg (with LOTS of room to grow!)
