About Sunny
Sunny is a small, svelte cat with an over-sized sense of adventure. Just over a year old, she’s been in foster care for more than twelve months. Somehow, despite being an extraordinary cat, she’s still waiting for her forever home.
Sunny was rescued last November after being dumped in a cardboard box with her brother on a 40-degree day, left in the blazing sun. She was so tiny she fit in the palm of my hand.
Her curiosity, intelligence and adventurous spirit have led to her being a little Houdini, capable of opening sliding doors and windows in her determination to get out to complete her Cat Duties. She needs stimulation, challenge and enrichment to truly thrive. She is determined to spend time outside, and will need a home where she has safe outdoor access. Sunny loves the outdoors - climbing trees, sniffing plants, chasing bugs, and doing joyful zoomies across the yard. She loves when her human comes outside with her and treats it as shared time, not separation. Whether its relaxing on the veranda or strolling around a garden, Sunny loves to keep you company.
Sunny is confident and unfazed by the world around her. Barking dogs next door, children, new environments - she handles it all calmly. She’s independent and happy doing her own thing, but when she chooses affection, it’s deeply special. In quiet moments, Sunny will come in close, rub against you, purr loudly, drool a little, and gaze up at you with huge, expressive eyes full of love. It’s intimate, intentional affection, and it’s beautiful.
Her coat is thick, plush and velvety, with colour variation right down to the base, and her tail is magnificent - nearly as long as her body. She’s physically stunning, but it’s her personality that really sets her apart.
Sunny is also a gentle, nurturing presence with cats she considers friends. She grooms them, cuddles them, and looks after them with quiet care. She is polite, respectful and friendly with cats her own age or older. She doesn’t enjoy kittens, but she has no aggressive or dominant behaviours and has lived harmoniously with many different foster cats over the past year.
Sunny is the perfect companion for someone who understands intelligent, independent animals that need a lot of stimulation to be happy and who wants a true partnership.
Sunny has waited long enough. She deserves a home that sees her for who she is and is ready to meet her energy, curiosity and love with the life she’s been waiting for.
