About Gertie
Meet Gertie, a graceful one year old German Shepherd who found her way into a country pound and is now looking for a new home.
In good health and free from any resource guarding issues, Gertie's loving nature makes her a joy to be around. Gertie is quick to learn and very trainable, and walks well on the lead. Her social nature ensures that she bonds well with other dogs, and she's particularly affectionate with her handlers.
Gertie is ready to be part of a loving home where her new family understands the unique strengths of the German Shepherd breed and is prepared to provide her with the care and companionship she deserves. With your help, Gertie can truly excel!
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherd and think you have the commitment to give me a new home, then please click on the link "Enquire about Gertie" and we will send you information about adopting a German Shepherd or go to our website and complete the application form.

If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered, however you will need to be able to drive with your family to meet her. If for any reason she doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing her back to Sydney or helping us to rehome from your home.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
