About Althea
Meet Althea, a gentle and alert fawn Kelpie who is taking her first steps towards a brighter future after being rescued from the pound by ARK.
Althea is slowly emerging from her shell, revealing a sweet, intelligent nature, which is so typical of the Kelpie. Weighing just 13 kgs, Althea might be small in size, but she has massive potential to be a loving and loyal life-long companion.
Gaining confidence in the world around her after a very rough period as an impounded stray, Althea thrives on human connections. She is responding warmly to her foster mum and will come when called for a pat and a cuddle. She is very dog-friendly.
Kelpies are known for their intelligence, loyalty and mild temperament, and Althea is no exception. She’s eager to learn, eager to please, and eager to have a home and family of her own.
Althea's perfect home would be one where she gets abundant physical and mental stimulation and is regarded as an integral member of a loving family. The more love she gets, the more she will give. With a little time and a little patience, Althea will be the perfect companion, never far from your side.
So if you’re ready to open up your heart and home to a shy yet loving bundle of Kelpie joy, consider making Althea part of your family.
As always, secure fencing is essential. Prior Kelpie experience will be highly regarded and if you already have a Kelpie or other working breed dog, all the better.
