Meet Nectar,
Nectar is the kind of cat who makes herself right at home - whether it’s a quiet apartment or a bustling family household. She's the perfect match for first-time cat owners and seasoned cat lovers alike!
This confident girl is equal parts curious explorer and chilled-out queen. She loves to play, check out what you’re up to, and then find a sunny spot to relax in style. Nectar is friendly, outgoing, and always ready to be part of the action (or nap session). Independent but social, she knows how to entertain herself - but she’ll also come trotting over when she’s in the mood for cuddles and attention. She’s affectionate without being clingy and always brings good vibes wherever she goes.
If you’re looking for a sweet, fun, and easy going cat to brighten your days, Nectar might just be your perfect match!
Nectar is open to meet kids of all ages. She loves to be picked up, carried and cuddled and loves to be patted and scratched all over too. She loves all forms of attention from the people around her.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Nectar would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
As for cats, Nectar seems interested in making friends. We encourage anyone with existing cats to do a gradual and supervised introduction over a few days to ensure that both cats have the best chance of becoming friends.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Nectar has already experienced living rough outside and she enjoys being inside where she feels safe. If she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat she can live her best life possible.
Nectar has mid-range energy levels but she's not all that interested in toys. What she does love in a scratch post or scratch toy. She also loves to roll around, making biscuits and purring the day away - with you close by, of course! She may love-bite during play time so smaller kids should be aware of this little behavioural quirk.
Nectar is a bit fussy with her food, but we are working on finding what she likes - so far she appears to like wet food.
Staff Comments: Nectar is a gorgeous girl with a big heart. She is sweet, affectionate and loves to love you.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
