Life has been a bit overwhelming for Mezcal so far, and he can be easily startled - especially as it appears he is deaf, which means he can't always anticipate what's going on around him.

Despite his fears, Mezcal has shown real courage and curiosity. He's not confident enough to seek out attention yet but once he feels safe, he melts under soft cheek and chin strokes. With slow, gentle interaction, Mezcal truly begins to relax and enjoy the affection he's been missing out on.

Mezcal would thrive in a peaceful, predictable home with a patient and understanding adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to adjust. He would likely benefit from the company of a friendly, confident cat who can help show him the ropes and offer a sense of companionship.
